Software Engineer

Job Overview:
- As a Systems Engineer, you will join Maldives Stock Exchange (MSE) / Maldives Securities Depository (MSD) focused on building, optimizing, and protecting Maldivian capital market infrastructure. The position is full-time and permanent, subject to probation and performance evaluation. Salary is negotiable based on qualification, experience, and demonstrated merit.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend systems supporting exchange, depository, registry, and transaction processing operations.
- Build scalable and fault-tolerant services for high-volume, high-integrity workflows.
- Translate complex business and capital market rules into application logic.
- Support zero-downtime deployment for critical systems.
- Monitor system health and performance, resolving issues proactively.
- Design and maintain secure APIs and system integrations.
- Apply secure coding standards and ensure data integrity.
- Maintain documentation, version control, and support deployment processes.
- Provide technical support and improve system architecture.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in software engineering or similar roles.
- Experience with backend systems, transaction processing, and critical applications.
- Strong practical experience with relational databases and API/system integration.
- Knowledge of secure coding, troubleshooting, and technical documentation.
- Degree in Software Engineering or related field preferred.
