Job Overview:
- The Lathe & Milling Machine Operator is responsible for operating CNC lathe and milling machines to manufacture, repair, and maintain precision-engineered components.
- The position is located at Thilafushi Site, Maldives, with 1 opening, and offers a salary of MVR 15,420.00.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate conventional and CNC lathe and milling machines safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and specifications.
- Set up machines, select appropriate cutting tools, and adjust machine parameters.
- Perform turning, facing, boring, threading, drilling, and milling operations according to specified dimensions and tolerances.
- Measure and inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments.
- Manufacture and repair machine components such as bushes, pins, shafts, sleeves, and spacers.
- Maintain dimensional accuracy and ensure all work meets quality standards.
- Perform routine machine maintenance, lubrication, and cleaning.
- Identify tool wear or machine defects and report issues promptly.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and comply with all workshop health and safety procedures.
- Assist with fabrication and repair work as required.
- Maintain accurate records of completed jobs and materials used.
- Fabricate and assemble hydraulic hoses according to specifications.
- Select the correct hose types, fittings, adapters, and seals.
- Operate hydraulic hose crimping machines and verify crimp dimensions.
- Conduct pressure and leak testing of hydraulic hoses.
- Install, replace, and repair hydraulic hoses on machinery and equipment.
- Maintain stock of hydraulic hoses, fittings, ferrules, and related accessories.
- Provide emergency hydraulic hose repair support for site equipment breakdowns.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Certificate, Diploma, or Trade Qualification in Machining, Mechanical Engineering, Fitting & Machining, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating conventional and/or CNC lathe and milling machines.
- Experience in machining, component fabrication, and precision measurement.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Proficient in using precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of machining processes and quality control standards.
- Experience in hydraulic hose fabrication and crimping is an advantage.
- Good understanding of workshop health and safety procedures.
- Physically fit and able to work independently and in a team.
- Willingness to work overtime and respond to emergency repair requirements.
