LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST

Job Overview:
- Society for Health Education (SHE) is looking for a suitable candidate for the role of Laboratory Technologist, providing support for the diagnosis of Thalassemia and related haemoglobinopathies. This position is based in the Maldives, with salary ranging from MRF 11,470.00 to 13,800.00.

Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine laboratory work for thalassemia screening, including phlebotomy, complete haemogram, blood picture analysis and electrophoresis.
- Participate in field trips and awareness raising programs as required.
- Provide genetic counselling to identified carriers and couples at risk.
- Perform data entry for Thalassemia and update laboratory statistics.
- Ensure appropriate utilization and storage of laboratory supplies and equipment.
- Coordinate in-house training.
- Conduct routine maintenance of laboratory equipment and prepare reagents in the lab.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field (including hematology).
- Must have a Phlebotomy Certificate.
- Registered at Maldives Allied Health Council and licensed to work as a Laboratory Technologist.
- Experience in a relevant field will be considered.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office.
- Strong time management, written and oral communication skills.
- Fine analytical judgment and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.

- Salary range: MRF 11,470.00 – 13,800.00, depending on qualification and experience.
