Job Overview:
- Society for Health Education (SHE) is looking for a Laboratory Technologist to support the diagnosis of Thalassemia and related haemoglobinopathies. The role involves routine analytical and administrative works of the laboratory. The work location is not stated, and the salary range is MRF 11,470.00 – 13,800.00.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine laboratory work for thalassemia screening including phlebotomy, complete haemogram, blood picture analysis and electrophoresis.
- Participate in field trips as required.
- Participate in awareness raising programs as required.
- Provide Genetic counselling to identified carriers and couples at risk.
- Perform data entry for Thalassemia and update laboratory statistics.
- Ensure appropriate utilization and storage of laboratory supplies and equipment.
- Coordinate in-house training.
- Conduct routine maintenance of laboratory equipment and preparation of reagents in lab.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field (including hematology).
- Phlebotomy Certificate required.
- Experience in a relevant field will be considered.
- Registered at Maldives Allied Health Council licensed to work as a Laboratory Technologist.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office.
- Strong time management, written and oral communication skills.
- Fine analytical judgement and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Good eye-hand coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.
- Able to travel on occasions when required.
