Inventory Officer
Salary Range

Responsibilities
1. Inventory Tracking & Recordkeeping
Maintain up-to-date and accurate inventory records in the system.
Enter and update item information such as quantity, location, and item codes.
Label and tag all items correctly for proper identification.
2. Stock Level Monitoring
Check daily stock levels and notify the Inventory Controller or Procurement Team when items reach reorder points.
Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels to ensure stock availability without overstocking.
Highlight and report fast-moving, slow-moving, or non-moving items.
3. Receiving and Dispatch Assistance
Verify items received against delivery notes and purchase orders.
Record goods received in the inventory system and coordinate with the procurement team for discrepancies.
Ensure proper documentation and system entry for all items dispatched or transferred between locations.
4. Expiry and Damage Checks
Regularly check for expiry dates and report expired or near-expiry items.
Identify damaged goods during handling or storage and report immediately.
Assist in organizing expired/damaged items for return, write-off, or disposal with proper documentation.
5. Stock Count Participation
Assist in periodic stock counts (daily, weekly, monthly, and annual).
Record and reconcile physical counts against system records under the guidance of the Inventory Controller.
Report any variances, misplacements, or unusual findings.
6. Pricing and Cost Verification (Support Role)
Assist in checking and verifying updated pricing from the Costing Officer or Inventory Controller.
Ensure price labels are up to date on shelves or packaging where applicable.
Report any inconsistencies in item pricing between the system and physical location.
7. System Data Entry and Accuracy
Ensure all inventory data is entered correctly and in a timely manner.
Support the maintenance of the inventory system by updating item information, barcodes, and location changes.
8. Coordination and Communication
Work closely with the warehouse, procurement, costing, and sales teams to ensure smooth inventory flow.
Escalate issues such as stock shortages, excess, damage, or discrepancies to the Inventory Controller.
9. Inventory Layout and Organization
Ensure items are stored properly in designated areas for easy access and identification.
Keep storage areas clean, organized, and in compliance with safety and hygiene standards.

Basic knowledge of inventory systems and procedures
Ability to handle physical stock counting and item checks
Familiarity with barcoding and item labeling
