Interior Designer / Furniture Draftsman

We are looking for an experienced, creative, and customer-oriented Interior Designer / Furniture Draftsman.

The ideal candidate should have practical experience in furniture design, carpentry, interior design, or a related field, with the ability to understand customer requirements and transform their ideas into attractive, functional, and commercially viable designs.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that combines design and technical drafting with sales, marketing, and business development. The successful candidate must be confident in presenting design concepts, convincing potential customers, preparing quotations, and following up on enquiries to secure orders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Furniture Design & Technical Drafting
- Meet customers to understand their requirements, preferences, budgets, and space limitations.
- Develop creative designs for custom-made furniture, kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, beds, TV units, office furniture, doors, and other carpentry products.
- Prepare detailed 2D drawings, 3D models, furniture layouts, and visual presentations.
- Produce technical drawings with accurate dimensions, materials, finishes, and specifications for carpentry production and installation.
- Prepare cutting lists, material requirements, and basic cost estimates in coordination with the production team.
- Revise designs based on customer feedback and ensure the final design meets agreed requirements.

2. Sales & Customer Relationship Management
- Actively engage with potential customers and convert enquiries into confirmed orders.
- Present design concepts professionally and confidently, explaining the benefits, materials, finishes, functionality, and pricing.
- Recommend suitable furniture solutions based on customer needs and budgets.
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and design presentations.
- Follow up on quotations and leads to close sales.
- Conduct customer visits, site measurements, and consultations when required.
- Maintain good customer relationships and identify opportunities for repeat business and referrals.

3. Marketing & Business Development
- Create promotional designs, product catalogues, brochures, social media posts, and advertisements.
- Support marketing activities on Facebook, Instagram, and other relevant platforms.
- Develop attractive presentations showcasing completed projects, furniture designs, and available products.
- Identify new business opportunities among homeowners, contractors, property developers, interior designers, offices, and commercial establishments.
- Assist in developing the company's brand image and expanding its customer base.

4. Project Coordination
- Coordinate with carpenters, production staff, suppliers, and installation teams to ensure designs can be manufactured accurately.
- Monitor design approvals, material selections, production progress, and installation requirements.
- Ensure drawings and specifications are clearly communicated to the workshop.
- Maintain records of customer enquiries, quotations, confirmed orders, and project progress.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in furniture design, carpentry drafting, interior design, or a similar field.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other relevant 2D/3D design software.
- Experience in custom furniture, kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, or residential and commercial interior projects.
- Knowledge of furniture materials, hardware fittings, finishes, dimensions, and carpentry production methods.
