HEAD OF TECHNICAL CREW
Full-time | 1 Position | Salary: Negotiable
Department Event Production Reports To Event Manager / Management
Role Type Hands-on Technical & Crew Leadership Location Maldives / Event Sites as Assigned
ROLE PURPOSE
To lead the technical crew and take hands-on responsibility for the safe, efficient setup, operation support and dismantling of event
production systems. The role covers rigging, LED, lighting, sound connections, equipment movement and on-site crew coordination.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead and supervise technical crew, technicians and temporary labour during event setups and dismantling.
• Handle and supervise event rigging, truss, LED screen, lighting and sound system installations.
• Coordinate equipment preparation, loading, unloading, transport readiness and event-site logistics.
• Allocate crew duties and ensure work is completed safely, correctly and within the event schedule.
• Check required equipment, cables, tools and accessories before dispatch from the warehouse.
• Carry out and troubleshoot basic LED, lighting, audio, signal and power connections.
• Coordinate with the Event Manager and specialist technical operators during setup, rehearsals and events.
• Supervise dismantling, packing, loading and return of equipment after events.
• Report equipment faults, damage, shortages, missing items and manpower requirements to management.
• Maintain crew discipline, safe working practices and proper handling of company equipment.
REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS
• Event rigging experience is essential.
• Previous experience in professional event production, AV or live-event technical operations.
• Good practical knowledge of LED screens, lighting systems and sound-system connections.
• Good understanding of AV cabling, signal flow, power distribution and basic troubleshooting.
• Ability to lead a crew, assign work and take responsibility for on-site technical execution.
• Able to work under pressure and meet tight event schedules.
• Willing to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and public holidays when events require.
• Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on technical work and working at event sites.
