Job Overview:
- Society for Health Education (SHE) is looking for a Counsellor who will provide psychosocial support to individuals and groups. The position is based in the Maldives and is for a duration of 4 months. Salary range is MVR 6,970.00-11,120.00 depending on qualification and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide psychosocial support to individuals, families, and groups.
- Contribute to planning and implementing counselling services.
- Assist in planning and delivering awareness-raising sessions on mental health.
- Coordinate with SHE departments for integrated service delivery.
- Support and provide input into IEC resource development.
- Attend public relations presentations as requested.
- Maintain the credibility of the counselling programme.
- Follow good standards of practice and care.
- Engage in community-based mental health activities.
- Hold self-accountable for decision-making and resource management.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Counselling.
- Valid practicing License.
- Must be a Maldivian.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office (Word and Excel).
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Divehi.
- Ability to adapt to changing work conditions.
- Capacity to multi-task and work as part of a team.
- Willingness to work extended hours and travel as required.
- Commitment to professional ethics and building relationships.
